
Golden Globe Awards has announced the Best Foreign Language Award nominees for the 67th Golden Globe Awards 2010.
The five nominees are
Baaria (Italy),
Broken Embraces (Spain),
The Maid (Chile),
A Prophet (France) and
The White Ribbon (Germany).
Baaria is Sicilian slang for Bagheria where Tornatore was born and this is an autobiographic epic of three generations in the Sicilian village where he was born
Brocken Embraces (
Los Abrazos Rotos) directed by Pedro Almodóvar ans staring Penelope Cruz is the stoty of Harry Caine, a blind writer, reaches this moment in time when he has to heal his wounds from 14 years back. He was then still known by his real name, Mateo Blanco, and directing his last movie.
The Maid (

Das weisse Band) directed by Michael Haneke is about strange events that happens in a small village in the north of Germany during the years just before World War I, which seem to be ritual punishment. The abused and suppressed children of the villagers seem to be at the heart of this mystery
