Born in Shiraz, Iran,

– pursued his higher education at the Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci in Perugia, Italy.

He has held over 180 solo gallery exhibitions, participated in more than 65 international exhibitions, and has been featured in 8 museum shows.
Hessam has published six retrospective books, and his artwork has appeared on the covers and chapter headings of nine university textbooks in the fields of sociology and psychology.
On March 24, 2006, the city of Ormond Beach, Florida, proclaimed it “Hessam Abrishami Day” and honored him with the Key to the City.
In 2007, Hessam was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Fine Art from American Liberty University in California.
