When resources are tight, you can’t afford to get average work from your actors. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use intentions and objectives to make your scenes more powerful, and most importantly, answer the age-old question: how do I get results from an actor who just can’t seem to give me what I want?
The workshop consists of two two-hour sessions in which experts from the Strasberg Institute apply their understanding of actors – what they need, and common problems they encounter – to guide you through an actual shoot using material you supply from your own short film screenplay or feature script. These are not theoretical exercises. With instructional guidance, you will shoot your own material with professional Strasberg actors, review the footage with the instructors, and then shoot the scene again to experience the difference made by through changes in how and what you communicate to your actors.
