Park City, UT –Recently, the 2007 Sundance Film Festival announced details for the panel discussions and events emphasizing the importance of music in filmmaking, as well as the artists performing at the Music Café, Music on Main, and at other Festival events in Park City. The events are part of the Festival’s focus to bringing musicians and filmmakers together in an environment where they can work with each other and exhibit their creativity.

During the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, the Sundance Institute’s Film Music Program and BMI will be holding events that exhibit the relationship between film and music.
• SUNDANCE CELEBRATES MUSIC AND FILM – Join composers and recording artists who substantial contributions to the world of independent film; performers include Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (Once), Scratch Massive (Broken English), Craig Werden (The Ten), and M. Ward (The Go-Getter). Sunday, January 21; 8:30 p.m. at Sundance House at The Kimball Art Center. Open to all Festival credential holders.
• FILM2MUSIC – Screens the highlights of ninety-four international filmmakers take at visually scoring a music track from Kubilay Under’s instrumental album Cinematic. Event is Tuesday, January 23; 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at New Frontier on Main. Open to all Festival credential holders and the public as space permits.
• A ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION: MUSIC AND FILM, THE CREATIVE PROCESS – This event will focus on the makings of an effective director/composer relationship. Panelists include composers Terence Blanchard, BT, George S. Clinton, Peter Golub, Adam Gorgoni, Adam Hollander, Dave Robbins, Anton Sanko, Ed Shearmur; and directors Justin Theroux (Dedication), Tom DiCillo (Delirious), Andrew Wagner (Starting Out in the Evening), and Mike Chaill (King of California). The event takes place Wednesday, January 24; 11:00 a.m. at Sundance House at The Kimball Art Center. Open to all Festival credential holders and the public as space permits.

Cocktails and appetizers will be served while you enjoy performances by Terence Blanchard, Victor Krauss, Keb Mo, and Michael Penn.
