“So Simple”, a film that provides an exploration into the life of a middle class woman living in Iran, was awarded two of the top prizes over the weekend at the 30th Moscow International Film Festival.
The Iranian director and producer Reza Mirkamiri was presented with the Golden Geroge award for Best Film at the closing ceremony held on June 29th. The film was also awarded the Russian Film critics prize.
“So Simple” was recognized earlier this year at the 2008 Fajr International Film Festival, Iran’s top festival. There, the film was awarded with Best Film and screenplay awards, and Hengameh Qaziani was awarded with the Best Actress prize.
French filmmaker Marion Laine won the Silver Gerorge jury prize for his film, “The Simple Heart”. The Best Director award was given to a Bulgarian filmmaker, Javor Gardev, for “Zift”.
