The story of the people who marched in the biggest protest in history is to be told for the first time in a feature-length documentary. On 15 February 2003, up to 30 million people in up to 800 cities across the globe marched against the impending invasion of Iraq. The day was described by novelist Arundhati Roy as the “most spectacular display of public morality ever”. Amir Amirani’s film places the testimony of ordinary people who marched alongside that of international celebrities who put their weight behind the movement. It presents the voices of those who orchestrated the protest, and those in power who turned their back on public opinion. Interviewees include the Emmy nominated actor and activist Danny Glover (also Executive Producer), Ken Loach, Tim Robbins, Brian Eno, Richard Branson, Arundhati Roy, Jesse Jackson, Ken Loach, Vivienne Westwood, Janet Suzman. The film will be scored by Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman.

‘WE ARE MANY’ is a crowd-funded production that is currently going viral (Stephen Fry has just tweeted in support to 3 million followers). It features on the innovative New York-Based crowd-funding site KICKSTARTER:

drove a final nail in the coffin of democracy on that day.”
‘We are Many’ has been five years in development. It is supported by a host of other high-profile individuals who recount their experience of the march, including: Tony Benn, Dave Randall, Bianca Jagger, Joe Corre, Tariq Ali, Jeremy Hardy, Michael Mansfield QC, Sir Andrew Motion, Craig Murray, Roger Lloyd Pack, Tim Pigott-Smith, Michael Rosen, Eugene Skeef, Noam Chomsky, Ahdaf Soueif, Phyllis Bennis, Howard Blake, Omid Djalili, Terry Jones, Richard O’Brien, David Hare, Janice Galloway, A.L.
