After being nominated for a César in the Best First Film category, the New York based distributor Film Movement has acquired the North American rights to ‘Neither Heaven Nor Earth,’ also known as ‘The Wakhan Front.’ The France-Belgium production, headed by first time French filmmaker Clement Cogitore, first started hitting radars while playing at the Cannes Critics’ Week last year.

Set back in 2014, the film takes place in Afghanistan and centers around Capt. Antares Bonassieu, played by Jeremie Renier, and his squad assigned on a surveillance mission in the remote valley of Wakhan, close to bordering Pakistan. As the withdrawal of troops approach, the Captain and his men slowly loose control of the situation and on one dark night, soldiers start to disappear.

President of Film Movement, Michael E. Rosenberg, finalized the deal with Nicolas Eschbach, the co-founder of Indie Sales.
