BOB BAKER DAYS 2017 – This coming weekend you can attend the 3rd Annual Celebration of Bob Baker’s legacy! The puppets and the people of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater will entertain you with the sights and sounds of a celebration you’ll never forget – now this annual event is extending into an ENTIRE WEEKEND! This 2-day festival debuts the opening of a new act for The Bob Baker Marionette Theater as a non-profit organization, unveiling long-awaited plans for another half-century… and it’s brimming with marionettes and ice cream cups for generations of Angelenos and visitors, both new and seasoned!
FUNdraising Variety Show & Wine Tasting

Starting with our Silent Auction Soiree at 5:30 p.m., join us for a dessert and wine pairing lead by a sommelier from The Wine House in our historic Party Room! Support us at our Silent Auction while enjoying sights and sounds of our pop-up Puppet Museum!
Followed by Friends & Frolics FUNdraising Variety Show! Hosted by famed showman Ron Lynch featuring the live talents of Lynda Kay, Lindsay Benner, King Kukulele, John Ennis, bubble-ologist Megan McIver, a few surprise guests… and of course, the Bob Baker Marionettes!

SATURDAY
10am: Let us enchant you with Bob Baker’s hand-crafted marionettes for half-an-hour filled with his most charming and talked-about numbers, and set to the magnificent backdrop of his most beloved accomplishment; his Living Theater!
10am-5pm: A whimsical outdoor carnival featuring an all-day outdoor stage with live music and entertainment, art and puppet-making workshops and activities, Carnival midway games, fortune telling, educational and exhibition booths from the local art community, food trucks, walk around entertainment and more. 10:30am-5pm: A live Bob Baker Marionette puppet show in our theater space!
12pm: A live Bob Baker Marionette puppet show in our theater space!
1:30pm: A live Bob Baker Marionette puppet show in our theater space!
4:30pm: A live Bob Baker Marionette puppet show in our theater space!
5:30-9pm: Partake in our Silent Auction at our early evening ice cream and cocktail soiree, followed by a variety show spectacular with the evening’s host Ron Lynch! The FUNdraising Variety Show at 7pm features the live talents of Lynda Kay, Lindsay Benner, King Kukulele, John Ennis, bubble-ologist Megan McIver, a few surprise guests… and of course, the Bob Baker Marionettes!

SUNDAY
10am-12pm: Cinefamily presents a Screen Novelties program celebrating Bob Baker’s roles in television and film– alongside live puppet re-enactments!
1:30pm: Atlas Obscura hosts KPCC’s Alex Cohen as she interview’s living legends of the Theater.
4pm: A curated birthday show from the puppeteers themselves as a birthday celebration for Bob Baker! Featuring a special birthday cake from Hansen’s Cake’s.

Bijan (Hassan) Tehrani Founder and Editor in Chief of Cinema Without Borders, is a film director, writer, and a film critic, his first article appeared in a weekly film publication in Iran 45 years ago. Bijan founded Cinema Without Borders, an online publication dedicated to promotion of international cinema in the US and around the globe, eighteen years ago and still works as its editor in chief. Bijan is has also been a columnist and film critic for the Iranian monthly film related medias for 45 years and during the past 5 years he has been a permanent columnist and film reviewer for Film Emrooz (Film Today), a popular inranian monthly print film magazine.
