The Easter Crumble, a short film directed by Julia Kolberger won Cinema Without Borders’ Bridgin The Borders Award for the Best Short Film at 2013 Polish Film Festival, Los Angeles. Cinema Without Borders jury members all agreed on the winning film: For its dramatic and expressive command of its ensemble cast, and of the film narrative, in chronicling the painful and progressive combustion of love, secrets and lies during a family reunion, and for also bringing humor and understanding to some of the more grotesque corners of our human nature.

The Honorably mention for this award went to THE 128th RAT directed by Jakub Paczek for its clever dark humor.

Cinema Without Borders’ Bridging The Borders Award for the best short film had nine nominees: The 128th Rat, The Big Leap, The Easter Crumble , A Memory of Last Summer, The Mother, Storm, Them, Twist & Blood and Volcano. In The Easter Crumble, Urszula is preparing a traditional Easter breakfast to welcome her daughter and her new fiancé.  Arrival of the couple comes with a big surprise to Urszula. Easter breakfast turns into supper, while Urszula goes through the worst day of her life.
