Beginning tomorrow, Mumbai, India, will play the host to 1500 Indian and 500 foreign delegates of the media and entertainment sector when the 2008 Frames convention begins.

In its ninth year, the Frames convention , held by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is the largest global convention in Asia that deals with the Business of entertainment.

The three-day convention will feature discussions and speeches by a number of big players in the global entertainment industry. The producer of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Barrie Osborne, will give the keynote address on the theme of the post-production industry going global.

Among the topics broached will include the sustainability of India’s growing entertainment sector, linguistic diversity in Indian Cinema, and the scope of International film productions.

Some of the notable Indian delegates include Bollywood filmmakers Anurag Basu, Ramesh Sippy, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who will moderate a discussion tackling the topic of what kinds of films work for today’s audiences.

The FICCI Frames convention will also feature an awards ceremony, where it will honor actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Sridevi with its living legends in entertainment award.

The Frames convention has become an important platform for both discussion and deliberation on pivotal questions facing the world of entertainment, as well as a method for connection making between major entertainment representatives from around the globe.
