Adnan Shah Talai began his career in film journalism in 1992, contributing to such publications as Soroush, Donyaye Tasvir (The World of Cinema), Film Video, and the monthly magazine Dialogue Among Civilizations. He is a member of the Iranian Association of Film Critics and Writers and has collaborated extensively with the Cinema Verité Documentary Film Festival and the Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults in various capacities over the years. In addition, he has been responsible for the translation and subtitling of several films by Ebrahim Hatamikia, as well as numerous documentary films presented at international cinematic events and festivals around the world. In the field of cinema, Shah Talai has served as an Arabic-language coach and consultant for actors in the films Farewell Baghdad, The Barber of Baghdad, and A Respectable Family. In the performing arts, he directed Bat Memory, a play by Richard Brautigan, which was staged at the Fajr International Theatre Festival in 2008. More recently, while continuing to write film criticism for online publications, he has been working on the translation and editing of the autobiography of the veteran British actor Sir Michael Caine, titled “What’s It All About, Mr. Caine?”.
