Estonian film Portugal by Lauri Lagle is the big winner at the seventh edition of First Look, one of Locarno Festival’s Industry Days most well established initiatives, focusing on cinema from a different region each year. Nine Albanian short films made their debut this weeks at Dokufest, Kosovo’s largest international documentary and short film festival which is holding its 16th edition in the historic city of Prizren, just 18 km from the Albania-Kosovo border. The 20th edition of African Cinema Festival will take place in the Moroccan central city of Khouribga from Sept. 9-16, the organizers announced in a statement on Tuesday. The festival was scheduled to start on September 2, but organizers decided to delay it a week later as the first date will coincide with Eid Al Adha. The Bratislava-based Lumiére cinema had a record number of visitors in the first half of this year, with Slovak movies also being popular with audiences.
