Cinema Without Borders is proud to announce the launch of CineMonth, a new editorial section dedicated to exploring the cinema of different countries around the world. The series will officially begin on November 1, 2026, with a special focus on Cuban Cinema.

Every other month, CineMonth will spotlight a different country through a collection of 20 original articles, offering readers an in-depth exploration of its cinematic history, artistic achievements, filmmakers, and cultural identity.

Each edition will begin with an introduction to the history and development of the featured country’s cinema, followed by reviews of nine significant films. Additional articles will explore important aspects of its film industry, including women filmmakers, directors working in exile or abroad, influential cinematic movements, emerging talents, and the relationship between cinema and the country’s social and political history.

The inaugural edition, dedicated to Cuban Cinema, will launch on November 1, introducing readers to the country’s rich filmmaking traditions, remarkable directors, and the historical and cultural forces that have shaped its cinematic identity.

With CineMonth, Cinema Without Borders aims to go beyond individual film reviews and festival coverage, creating a growing international library of cinematic knowledge. By bringing together history, criticism, and cultural perspectives, the new section will offer readers a comprehensive understanding of each country’s contribution to world cinema.

CineMonth reflects Cinema Without Borders’ continuing commitment to discovering, celebrating, and connecting the diverse voices of international cinema—one country at a time.
